Toyota Scaled Model Robot

One of our clients, the Toyota Research Institute (TRI), created their Punyo robot to assist in users' personal and domestic tasks, such as carrying groceries, moving furniture, or assisting the elderly. The name Punyo indicates chubby, cute resilience in Japanese. This AI-learning, interactive humanoid robot consists of a head, arms, and sweatered torso, as well as a metal skeleton, cameras, and tactile sensors. Punyo is capable of full-body manipulation, lifting or bodily moving heavy, bulky, or unwieldy objects.

Informative EV Trade Show Display Model

REACH Strategies works with organizations in the electric vehicle (EV) space with their communications and engagement campaigns. As a vendor at the 2024 St. Louis Auto Show, REACH needed a detailed, educational display on the benefits of EVs. They approached Empire Group due to the strength of our proprietary in-house design and engineering capabilities.

In particular, they required an accurate EV model demonstrating the advantages of electric charging technology. Our process efficiencies and design mastery would prove vital to meeting the project's tight three-week turnaround.

Biostore Cryogenic Storage Model

The BioStore Cryogenic Automated Sample Storage System is a machinethat stores a large amount of biological samples while maintaining a small footprint. Redfish reached out to our team to fabricate a trade show model of their design.

The overall form was made from hand cut polyurethane foam blocks that were sanded to achieve a smooth surface for the paint and graphics. Details like the shelves and the complex surfaces were CNC machined. The finished model was then fitted with casters, lighting, and a screen to finish off the interactive display.

Interactive Plumbing Display

Our prototyping team was contracted by QuickFitting to design and manufacture 400 interactive demonstration units. The intent was for these to be displayed in hardware stores and at conventions to show how quick and simple their product is compared to traditional methods of pipe joining.

Our team’s modeling and finishing work for significant full scale models were displayed at the Defense and Security Equipment International’s London exhibition.
